Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Instrumentation Design Engineer 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible to select/design sensors and transducers, cable interface assemblies, and data acquisition equipment for lab, ground, aircraft, and other test activities

  • Specify sensors such as microphones, accelerometers, strain gages, temperature sensors, load cells to meet program measurement requirements

  • Responsible for design of cable assemblies to interface sensors to data acquisition units

  • Must be familiar with data acquisition hardware and software configuration settings

  • Familiarity with sensor integration to acquisition hardware

  • Must have ability to document sensor integration, data acquisition hardware, and data acquisition software settings clearly and concisely

  • Work in a team environment, deriving and documenting instrumentation requirements and developing measurement solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience with data acquisition hardware and software configuration settings

  • Familiarity with sensor integration to acquisition hardware

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
