Military Aircraft Systems (MAS) Director Pricing and Cost Estimating
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) Contracts, Pricing & Risk Management organization is seeking a Director, Contracts 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals.
We are seeking a highly qualified, strong leader to influence and enable the strategic direction of the MAS Organization as the Director of Contracts located at either the Melbourne, Florida Center of Excellence or at the South Bay Center of Excellence. This position will have accountability for the MAS Contracts organization and will work collaboratively with internal and external customers to support the submission of high quality, timely and compliant proposals, as well as support the negotiation and administration of contracts in support of the financial objectives of the MAS Division. The Director of Contracts is responsible for managing a team of managers and professionals who support all program pricing requirements for the Division across multiple NGAS sites, including Melbourne, FL., Redondo Beach, CA., Oklahoma City, OK and Palmdale, CA.
In addition to managing employee staffing, training and development, this individual has oversight for all of the MAS Division contract activities in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and best practices to achieve operational excellence, financial performance and customer satisfaction. This portfolio includes an assortment of contracts, including contracts directly with the United States Government/Military and contracts with other large prime contractors, as well as Foreign Military Sales, direct commercial and international contracts.
This is a high visibility position that requires regular interaction with Executive management at the Division, Sector, and Corporate levels. The successful candidate must be a proactive team player, work independently, and possess excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment. This individual will support Sector and Corporate Contracts Councils and provide resources and input to assist with identification and completion of key strategic initiatives. This individual will also be responsible for cultivating internal and external customer relationships and supporting Government/Industry forums and councils.
Candidate will have the following:
Exceptional people leadership,
Demonstrated success in managing large, complex programs and/or organizations,
Ideal individual will have broad experience in managing contracts throughout the acquisition life cycle and a strong understanding and knowledge of government acquisition processes,
Experience reviewing and approving contractual documents for protection of the company's contractual posture and ensuring adherence to company policy,
Experience providing advice to various levels of leadership regarding contractual rights, obligations and interpretation of terms and conditions,
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
10 years' experience with acquisition management including knowledge of contracts and program business management in the government market (direct with government, and with large DoD Prime Contractors)
Minimum 5 years management experience, leading leaders
Must have a thorough understanding government contracting including Strong proposal development and solid negotiation skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Master's in business related field
Active TS Security clearance
