Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems – Global Mission Excellence & Logistics (GME&L) is seeking a Director, Programs 1 functionally reporting to the Military Aircraft Systems (MAS) GME&L Division Director and providing direct matrix support to the Vice President and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, within the Military Aircraft Systems Divisionportfolio of programs. The Director will lead a diverse team of professional logisticians providing expertise across all of the portfolio P&L execution IPTs. This position will be located at the Manned Aircraft Design Center of Excellence (MAD CoE) in Melbourne, Florida.

The Director will be responsible for direct day-to-day program support as well as the personnel, processes and tools required to perform the E-2/C-2 Hawkeye/Greyhound Program logistics statement of work (SOW) across all phases of the lifecycle. Specifically responsible for the strategy development and execution of all twelve Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements as they apply to the E-2/C-2 domestic and international portfolio which include Reliability & Maintainability; Modeling & Simulation; Supportability Analysis and Maintenance Planning; Support Equipment Design Engineering; Obsolescence Management; Technical Data; Training & Training Systems; Spares/Provisioning and Repairs.

The Director will also be responsible for the customer engagement and joint development/maintenance of the product support portfolio and strategy. This includes the Life Cycle Support Plan (LCSP), and the product support business case analyses required to position the platform to deliver the designed performance while growing the support business area as the program matures. Examples include supporting the US Navy in establishing an organic depot maintenance capability and partnering with the Defense Logistics Agency on long term agreements for materiel contracts.

In addition to supporting the program with an advanced knowledge of DoD logistics policies, processes, directives and support framework, the Director will drive early design influence into new product development and incorporate operations and support (O&S) considerations into the design process as part of the program systems engineering process. In coordination with the customer community the Director will influence the platform fielded sustainment strategy to positively influence fielded system performance, operational readiness and mission effectiveness.

This position requires approximately Domestic (20% of time) and International (5% of time) travel.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Minimum of 9 combined years of experience in all of the following: Logistics, Product Support, and Weapons Systems Sustainment.

  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance with full investigation within the last six years.

  • Minimum of 5 years Leadership experience - leading diverse multifunctional teams.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing and executing DoD acquisition programs

  • Knowledge of earned value management / EVMS

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working within a Matrix environment with dotted line responsibilities of Program P&L

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • Experience as a Program Manager or Functional Manager

  • Experience working with the Naval Air Systems Command competencies/programs and/or Test & Evaluation

  • Experience with deployed support of Naval Aviation type/model/series (TMS) weapons systems

  • Experience establishing and executing industrial based Public Private Partnerships (PPP), Long Term Agreements (LTA), as well as Performance Based Logistics (PBL) support strategies and contracts.

  • Experience developing and executing Lean/Six Sigma related activities

  • DoD DAWIA level 3 certification in Logistics, Program Management, Systems Engineering or T&E

  • Experience with international business development and overseas product support.

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
