Northrop Grumman Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist in McLean, Virginia

Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join our team of diverse professionals in McLean, Virginia . This position will require occasional travel as required to meet Business Unit needs. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of government contracting regulations and be prepared to perform with moderate supervision as part of a subcontracts team on large domestic and international proposal efforts that may require developing solutions to fairly complex problems.

Responsibilities :

  • Participates in strategic sourcing decisions, international subcontracting, teaming agreement generation and execution, and prepares requests for proposals consistent with customer solicitations, federal statutes and regulations and enterprise policies and procedures

  • Evaluates proposal submissions, identifies risk and mitigation strategies, and develops negotiation plans

  • Prepares subcontract files in compliance with Northrop Grumman values, policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Collaborates with program management and other multi-functional teams

  • Multi-tasks, makes decisions in a timely manner, displays strong interpersonal skills

  • Builds and maintains a general knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and associated Federal Contracting regulations, and works in a fast-paced environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have one of the following:

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of progressive subcontracts / procurement experience

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of progressive subcontracts / procurement experience

  • Master's degree witha minimum of 1year ofprogressive subcontracts / procurement experience

  • Understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and regulations

  • The ability to work well in team environments

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships on a global basis at all levels of the enterprise

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and apply sound judgment to problem solving

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • The ability to travel as needed (up to 10%)

  • Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DoD subcontracts/procurement experience

  • MBA and/or CPCM

  • Experience with SAP Procurement & Accounting System
