Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Sr Manager, Strategic Planning 3 to join the Sector Strategic Planning organization, reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning. The selected applicant will become a trusted member of a team responsible for leading Sector-level strategy and associated efforts including:

  • Strategy Alignment: Working with and supporting NGSP Division teams in formulating strategies for high-priority market segments, product lines, and customer areas. Ensuring alignment with overall Sector strategy, including planning and leading working groups, focus sessions, and specific projects intended to up-skill strategy across the Sector, resolving strategic issues, and enabling Division teams to close on key recommendations.

  • NGSP Portfolio Strategy: Developing and continuously refining the Sector’s integrated portfolio strategy, priorities, and objectives. Communicating NGSP strategy to multiple stakeholders including Corporate, Sector, and Division executive leadership briefings.

  • Budget and Market Assessments: Analyzing and synthesizing insights regarding addressable market and customer budgets to influence the NGSP Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and related financial targets. Partnering with NGSP Business Management throughout the AOP process to assess the feasibility and executability of the AOP.

  • Functional Strategy Support: Partnering with NGSP functional organizations (e.g. Chief Technology Office, Talent, Business Development, etc.) to support various strategy initiatives, investment recommendations, special projects, and general strategy consulting to the Sector.

  • Cross-Sector Collaboration: Supporting Cross-Sector strategy engagements with other Northrop Grumman Sectors and the Corporate office, promoting enterprise synergies and capabilities .

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience

  • Previous experience in strategic assessment, strategy development, or financial analysis

  • Proven experience creating executive-level briefing and presentation content

  • Excellent oral/written communication, presentation, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Experience working with cross functional teams

  • Familiarity with space industry trends, dynamics, and characteristics

  • Current Top-Secret clearance and/or current SSBI at time of application

  • U.S. Citizen prerequisite

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience specifically in aerospace and defense strategic planning, portfolio development, and/or strategic assessment

  • Experience in strategic planning in the space industry

  • Northrop Grumman internal long-range strategic development experience

  • Current active TS/SCI

Salary Range: $170,000 - $255,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
