The Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Publications Manager 1 to lead a team of desktop publishers and editor/writer professionals working with proposal teams to contribute and lead volume teams in the creation of compliant, compelling business proposal artifacts that result in winning new businesses from our prospective US and international customers. This position is remote and or on-site at times.
•Lead a team of desktop publishers and editors/writers specialist; coordinating with department members, and repro center; arranging for proposal materials, and other resources for production or publishing.
•Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of a company's written materials
•Precisely control and interpret information flow between team members
•Ensure word templates for each proposal follow Northrop Grumman Corporate guidelines and RFP requirements
•Collaborates with Proposal Managers, coordinators, and other team members to meet scheduled requirements.
•Work with the larger team of proposal managers, capture managers, to develop, document and disseminate best agile proposal practices and conduct related training
•Provide quality assurance of proposal volumes prior to delivery
•Provide guidance to consultant staff (DTP/editors).
•Knowledgeable on latest grammar and page layout tools
•Execute department editors/writers and DTP procedures and best practices
•Ability to work in a deadline driven environment without compromising quality results
•Work closely with management to schedule and coordinate staff assignments
•Ensures high quality of output and compatibility of product with follow-on reproduction processes
•Support SharePoint permission granting, process and tracking
•Bachelors degree in English or Communication, or related degree or equivalent 4 years' experience with relevant work or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
•Strong understanding of proposal operations, and leadership principles.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, language/grammar applications and incorporation of graphics into proposal document.
•As an editor, the ability to improve on other people's work, detail oriented, thorough, and organized with an ability to keep work/schedule on track and to drive deliverables to completion and to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
•Experienced in formatting large and complex proposals and customize documents to meet RFP requirements
•APMP Foundation certification
•Experience supporting DoD, Civil Federal and Intel proposals
•Experience with Agile technique and tools
•Demonstrate skills in critical thinking and writing
•Eligibility for security clearance
