Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking an Employee and Executive Communications Director to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals in McLean, Virginia . This role will report directly to the Vice President of Communications.
The selected candidate will be the primary Communications advisor leading the partnership with Human Resources and the various functional organizations.
The Employee and Executive Communications Director leads (in partnership with other members of the sector Communications leadership team as applicable) key sector communications initiatives to promote and publicize company culture, people, products, and performance, expands awareness of Northrop Grumman's brand and reputation among current and past employees, and aids in the recruitment of new employees to our company.
This position is ideal for a strategic thinker and hands-on individual who can take projects from concept to implementation, and has a proven track record of simultaneously managing and delivering multiple communications projects.
Serves as the primary liaison with Corporate
Manages communications channels to deliver information to employees about the company, customers, and program performance, as well as information about employee / team accomplishments
Supports Talent Acquisition initiatives to draw potential new employees to our company through recruiting channels.
Sets the strategic and tactical plan for communicating key sector initiatives to employees, communicating through crisis and change
Builds brand ambassadors by sharing Northrop Grumman's leadership through the sector's accomplishments, thought leadership, capabilities, and operational performance
Delivers captivating, relevant information to employees using emerging and non-traditional communications avenues and outlets, including but not limited to platforms, partnerships, and branded content
Identifies opportunities to continually improve upon the sector's in-house capability to deliver world-class employee communications
Leads development and execution of sector-level integrated employee communications strategy
Creates top down integrated messaging to be used across the enterprise
Engages with non-traditional communications avenues and outlets, including external social media channels
Oversees sector contributions to the division communications and the intranet
Partners with peer directors on the communications strategy and associated integrated communications plans to communicate key recurring and non-recurring initiatives for employees
Conducts regular audits of employee communication plan execution by internal and external partners and provides feedback and direction to ensure strategies are effectively and coherently delivered through-the-line in all sector communications
Must have one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or other liberal arts discipline with a minimum of 10 years of communications experience
Master's degree in Business, Communications, or other liberal arts discipline with a minimum of 8 years of communications experience
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks within deadlines
Strong proficiency with the Associated Press (AP) style and the ability to effectively and concisely communicate (orally and in writing) to all levels of enterprise leadership
Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia
Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)
Master's Degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of communications experience
At least 1 year of experience in a science, technology, aerospace, defense business, academic institution, or government organization
Project / Change Management certifications
