Northrop Grumman seeks a highly qualified individual to represent the interests of the LCS Class Mission Package program as Mission Module Maintenance Engineer (MMME) for maintenance and sustainment of all Mission Package equipment world-wide. This position and will be located at Mission Module Repair Facility (MMRC) Mayport Office. The position may require support and travel to the Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF) and affiliated MMRCs, Forward Operating Sites (FOS) and Remote Operating Sites (ROS) locations worldwide.

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance management of Mission Package assets embarked on the LCS Class ships to ensure fleet maintenance and logistics support requirements are properly supported. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the operational and maintenance requirements of the US Navy Fleet to ensure their mission readiness, and will serve as the primary representative for all mission package maintenance and modernization.

As a senior maintenance representative, the candidate will be an effective communicator who will also provide day-to-day management of maintenance at all MMRC Mayport centered locations. The candidate will interface with the on-site NG and government Site Leads in the day-to-day operations of the MMRC. Assigned duties will include:

The MMME will support the MMRC Maintenance Managers at NS Mayport as well as Navy Base San Diego, and the MPSF at Naval Base Ventura County. He will coordinate with and be supported by the MPSF maintenance planners in the course of his duties and he will, in turn, support their efforts through the prompt completion of maintenance actions and supporting documentation. He or she will also support the embarkation lead for MP embarkation-related efforts and during related events.

Serving in a capacity consistent with that of a Port Engineer (PE), the MMME will work with key Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop, screen/broker, prioritize, execute and report availability actions and plans to ensure equipment readiness meets the demands of COMLCSRON, Mission Module Divisions (DIVRONS), and Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Fleet operational requirements. A key function of this position will include interface with the ship's crew, department heads, and various Commanding Officers to coordinate and resolve mission package related maintenance and repair actions relative to the maintenance plan.

The MMME candidate shall be experienced in planning and estimating support for the maintenance and repair of the Mission Package. Duties include but are not limited to maintenance availability planning and supervision, embark and debark planning and supervision, and life cycle sustainment planning and execution. Related duties will include project management, logistics support, and material readiness management. The MM/PE will also provide the following support:

  • Primary point-of-contact for Mission Module maintenance and material matters related to equipment operating out of the MPSF.

  • Identify and schedule Planned Maintenance System (PMS) requirements

  • Utilize Maintenance Figure of Merit(MFOM) to create, manage, screen and schedule Automated Work Notification (AWN) (i.e., 2K) for workload determination

  • Work with equipment SME to identify corrective maintenance requirements

  • Identify other maintenance requirements (assessments)

  • Coordinated Ship Maintenance Plan (CSMP) Management

  • Execute Planned and Corrective Maintenance Planning Support (PMAV/CMAV) Availabilities

  • Determining personnel required (numbers and skills)

  • Identify parts, consumables, tools required

  • Identify test and inspection requirements

  • Quality Control Inspection (Spot Checks)

  • Draft electronic Work Authorization Form (eWAF)

  • Report Operational Readiness to LCSRON and MPSF

  • Risk Assessments / identify mitigation courses of action

  • Engage with Navy representatives, government program offices, Fleet Sailors, and shipyard / other contractors.

  • Data collection for trend analysis and to support causative research

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

This req can be filled as a level 3 or level 4

Level 3:

  • 5 years experience with a Bachelor's degree, 3 years with a Masters, or 0 years with a PhD in Science or a related field

  • Fifteen (15)+ years experience with Navy maintenance, to include a supervisors knowledge of the Navy's Maintenance and Material Management (3M) system, Corrective Maintenance, and logistics support

  • Proven experience planning and executing preventative and corrective maintenance availability activities on U.S. Navy ships

  • Maintenance Material Control Officer

  • Department Head/Division Officer/Work Center Supervisor experience

  • Ability to conduct and report on technical review of work packages

  • Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship and other spaces, climbing 20 ft ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier, lifting 50 lbs or more.

  • Secret clearance

Level 4:

  • 9 years experience with a Bachelor's degree, 7 years with a Masters, or 4 years with a PhD in Science or a related field

  • Fifteen (15)+ years experience with Navy maintenance, to include a supervisors knowledge of the Navy's Maintenance and Material Management (3M) system, Corrective Maintenance, and logistics support

  • Proven experience planning and executing preventative and corrective maintenance availability activities on U.S. Navy ships

  • Maintenance Material Control Officer

  • Department Head/Division Officer/Work Center Supervisor experience

  • Ability to conduct and report on technical review of work packages

  • Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship and other spaces, climbing 20 ft ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier, lifting 50 lbs or more.

  • Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Port Engineer supporting US Navy warships

  • Experience on the LCS Class highly desired

  • Eight (8) years of Work Center Supervisor experience within the past ten years

  • CSMP Management

  • MOFM/AWN Job Development and Management (or equivalent USN maintenance system)

  • Supervisor's knowledge of the Navy's Surface Warfare (SUW) and systems and inter-workings of the LCS Class MM program

  • Experience working within the LCS/MM programmatic and operational management environment (i.e., experience working within the NAVSEA PMS 420/505 and LCSRON community)

  • Experience in embarking/debarking LCS Class MPs

  • Experience working with COMLCSRON

  • Quality Assurance

  • Experience in testing and evaluation of LCS MM as a member of a LCS MCM Detachment and Officer In Charge (OIC)
