SSSD's Engineering Asset Management (EAM) has an opening for Inventory Planning Control to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

The Inventory Planning Control role will be required to perform a wide range of functions within the Customer Support and Logistics (CS&L) organization, working closely with Customer Liaisons, Inventory/Utilization Control team members, Acquisition/Support Services and the Property Management Organization (PMO) in the management and oversight of inventory reports, utilization, location changes, and disposition outcomes for EAM and customer owned Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE).

Essential Functions will include, but are not limited to:

  • Primarily responsible and accountable for planning/controlling annual inventory scheduling of general purpose test equipment, Equipment Rental Pools, and customer inventory utilization data.

  • Responsible for management and data integrity across all data management reporting systems for EAM-Owned M&TE

  • Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard inventory management processes, between multiple data management systems, such as the Calibration Management System (CMS) and Property Management System (AssetSmart).

  • Researching, analyzing, and providing recommended inventory/equipment outcomes to EAM leadership, Customer Liaisons, Area Coordinators and customers, based on utilization outcomes

  • Supports the reutilization, redeployment, and return or extension of equipment based on customer provided periods of performance or Expected Return Date (ERD)

  • Development and maintenance of inventory and utilization reporting systems; including, but not limited to the CMS and AssetSmart

  • Reports to the CS&L Section manager, ensuring successful collection and distribution of inventory scanning requirements, utilization metrics, laboratory scorecards and inefficient use of EAM acquired M&TE

  • Perform continuous improvement of standard practices and processes

  • May originate support plans for potential customers and provide technical assistance to existing customer personnel, and team members

  • Monitors daily, weekly and monthly utilization/inventory scanning productivity to ensure performance targets are met
