Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems - Test Systems Product Engineering, has an opening for a Product Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate is to be responsible for designing electro-mechanical products using a 3D CAD tool.Candidate will be required to create, modify and maintain drawings of hardware. Such hardware includes, but is not limited to, electrical test equipment, test sets, drawers, custom cables, ground antennas and supporting facilities. Candidate must be adept at working independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. Candidate should be able to communicate well verbally and written, and be attentive to detail.

In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to:

  • Ensure consistency and quality of hardware designs

  • Understand basic electrical requirements and translate those into a mechanical designs

  • Design using3D modeling CAD tool and translate those designs into a 2D drawing

  • Work with data management systems such as Intralink, Winchill, Enovia

  • Work in an integrated product team consisting of mechanical, electrical and software engineers

  • Present at design reviews

  • Involved in program meetings as an integral member providing status updates, creating schedules, identifying staffing needs, identifying challenges and providing solutions

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must also be able to collaborate closely with electrical engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another STEM discipline

  • 2+ years experience with a CAD tool

  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

  • Experience in hardware design and drawing creation

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in electro-mechanical design(understanding basic electrical requirements in translating them to mechanical designs)

  • Experience with CREO/ProE

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • DOD/SCI Clearance
