Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is currently seeking our next ASIC/FPGA Circuit Design Engineer to join the Digital Products team based in Manhattan Beach, CA. This person will work on implementation of digital logic for space applications. Assignments vary based on individual interest and background in the fields of digital communications, signal processing, network routing and switching protocols, and computer architectures. Activities include VHDL design of ASIC and FPGA, verification via simulation and emulation, synthesis, and timing analysis. Understanding of digital logic design. Study courses include digital communication, signal processing, network routing and switching protocols, or computer architectures. Experience with C/C++, VHDL, or Verilog. Experience with commercial CAD tools (simulation, synthesis, and place-and-route). Hand-on lab experience is highly desired. Must have good interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team environment. Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Other responsibilities include:
Designs and develops circuits used in electronic devices. Responsible for layout and mask design, device evaluation and characterization, test box design, prototype construction and checkout, and determination of wafer fabrication processes. Prepares test methods and specifications; analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests; provides finished device approval; and prepares customer application information.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or another STEMdisciplinefrom an accredited university
ASIC/FPGA design experience
Candidate must have the ability to obtain SSBI clearance
Active SSBI clearance
