Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Capture Management Director 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Redondo Beach, CA. The position reports to the Communication Systems Director of Strategy & Capture within the Space Systems Division, and is responsible to direct all business growth strategy and capture activities for the MILSATCOM mission/market segment, which includes multiple capture campaigns engaging with broad MILSATCOM customer community to position and compete for USG and potentially international business opportunities valued at >$5B.

Primary responsibilities for this MILSATCOM Director position are:

  • Lead the Communication Systems MILSATCOM growth team to create, position for, and capture new business

  • Perform MILSATCOM market/mission area assessments and develop the mission area growth strategy

  • Identify and target MILSATCOM business opportunities and partnerships to create value growth

  • Work closely with other NGAS, NGMS and NGIS organizations to develop integrated cross-sector communications strategies and to capture company priority programs

  • Stand-up and direct focused opportunity capture campaigns for new MILSATCOM programs, products and technologies

  • Proactively engage with MILSATCOM customer and industry communities to build and maintain trusted relationships

  • Establish close working relationships with the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) to facilitate the discovery, evaluation, qualification, development and capture of new business opportunities

  • Define, advocate, manage MILSATCOM NCTA to develop discriminating architectures, techniques and products

  • Provide oversight of MILSATCOM proposal developments and lead sign-off reviews up through the NGAS organization

  • Provide oversight of MILSATCOM R&D contracts, with responsibility to meet technical objectives, cost and schedule

  • Build an effective team in a complex environment ensuring that all employees feel engaged and connected to their work

  • Coordinate and collaborate with functional leadership to ensure required staffing, processes and infrastructure are available as needed to capture and then execute new business

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in competitive Government-Industry space acquisition

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (TS-SCI)

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) from an accredited university

  • Demonstrated ability to develop/execute business growth strategies and capture activities

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate/coordinate/collaborate up, down and across all levels of a large organization

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined teams to execute business growth strategies and capture activities

  • Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with customers and industry partners/suppliers

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and lead/oversee capture campaigns, proposals and R&D projects/contracts

  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet business objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of DoD space systems requirements, acquisition and budgeting processes

  • Knowledge of DoD MILSATCOM mission area, including mission requirements, system capabilities/technologies, customer community and industry community (potential competitors and partners/suppliers)

  • Experience planning/executing growth strategies, competitive capture campaigns and proposal activities

  • Experience in system concept development (technical, schedule, cost)

  • Effective at formulating NCTA budget requests/plans and executing plans to meet technical/budget/schedule objectives

  • Able to make timely tough decisions based on information available and sound logic

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills including abilities to engage people to establish and maintain highly effective internal and external relationships; to effectively discuss, present and articulate issues, strategies and solutions internally across all levels of the organization and externally to senior customers; and to proactively and enthusiastically lead teams to capture new MILSATCOM business
