Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking for a talented Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team in Linthicum, MD. The Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer will function as a liaison in support of Space and Non-Space programs to ensure the compliance of hardware needed to produce high quality assemblies. Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing supplier material and the evaluation of suspect materials for disposition. Collaborates with the Global Supply Chain, Engineering and Manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. The Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer will be the subject expert to mentor team members and stakeholders to procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the conformance of Space & Non Space purchased material. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment, conducts quality assurance tests, and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Will conduct periodic audits of quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field and 9+years of relevant experience, (or a Master's degree in a related STEM field and 7+ years of relevant experience)
Ability to coordinate vendor material for disposition across all Space and Non-Space programs and all commodities while being committed to customer service and the Quality principles of control and management of non-conforming material.
Experience providing daily engineering support to management, receiving inspection and inventory activities
Subject matter expert in mentoring Inspectors, QEs, and stakeholders to command Media and process improvement activities, as well as perform audits.
Experience with SAP reporting and transaction knowledge and Microsoft Office Suite skills
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
- Knowledge of Advanced Quality Concepts, such as Green Belt Training and customer service and process improvement knowledge preferred.
