Northrop Grumman Software Quality Engineer / Principal Software Quality Engineer in Linthicum, Maryland

The quality engineer develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. Conducts software inspection, testing, verification and validation. Implements

software development and maintenance processes and methods. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to

project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract. Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans

against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3 Engineer opening.

Basic Qualifications:

Software Quality Engineer:

  • Bachelor's + 2 years of exp; Master's + 0 years of exp; or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree

  • Experience in quality support and continuous improvement

  • Demonstrable knowledge of software development methods and Systems Engineering practices

  • Technical expertise to solve complex problems without appreciable direction

  • Active Top Secret Clearance

Principal Software Quality Engineer

  • Bachelor's + 5 years of exp; Master's + 3 years of exp; or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree

  • Experience in quality support and continuous improvement

  • Demonstrable knowledge of software development methods and Systems Engineering practices

  • Technical expertise to solve complex problems without appreciable direction

  • Active Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate software work products including code

  • Experience supporting an agile and/or dev ops software development environment

  • Experience using UNIX, LINUX, JIRA, Git, BitBucket and/or SonarQube is desired

  • AS9100 auditing experience and/or auditor training

  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
