The Emerging Capabilities Development group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Semiconductor Test Engineering Manager for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Silicon Germanium, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. The Semiconductor Test Engineering Manager should possess a working knowledge of solid-state device physics, digital/analog/RF (any combination) device test techniques, and experience in Back End of Line (BEOL) device testing at the wafer, single chip package and multi-chip module level.

Primary duties include managing a team of test engineers responsible for developing, sustaining, qualifying, and delivering test solutions for a diverse portfolio of products spanning multiple material systems and technology nodes. This includes working with design and product engineering teams to understand chip designs, evaluate physical and electrical sensitivities, and oversee the definition and development of test hardware and software and characterization of circuit performance. The test manager will also oversee all test efforts to meet production schedules and on time deliveries. The test manager will oversee the definition, procurement, delivery, installation, and bring-up of any new test equipment to meet future needs of new chip designs. He/she will coordinate test engineers to develop and document test process flows post wafer fabrication. Other assignments may include ensuring timely procurement of test materials, root cause analysis of test related issues, assist with product qualification follow, and lead test engineers in documentation and approval processes needed to release test changes to production. The chosen individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels in the organization and be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills. This role will also be responsible for all personnel related activities (goal setting, timesheet approvals, paid time off, scheduling, training, etc) of each employee reporting to him/her.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Physics, or other closely related technical field with 9+ years of relevant experience (7+ years with an MS or 4+ years with a PhD).

• At least 1+ years of experience managing a team.

• Experience with semiconductor process flows with critical dimensions at 250 nm or less and semiconductor test development and sustaining engineering.

• Some project management experience.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A strong background in solid state device physics, digital/analog/RF circuit test.

• Involvement with leading or participating in technology transfers and/or external foundry interface experience.

• A thorough knowledge of advanced analog, digital, and/or RF device characterization techniques.

• Some experience with data analysis tools such as JMP.

• Experience with the design and layout of test fixturing.

Salary Range: $128,400 - $192,600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
