Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector Test Engineering organization is seeking a Radar Cross Section (RCS) Antenna Range Engineer to be an instrumental part of Northrop Grumman's Test Engineering Team at its Linthicum campus.

The Test Engineering role includes the design, planning and execution of Radar Cross Section (RCS) / LO (Low Observable) test programs. During test, the test engineer has responsibilities for test scheduling, coordinating the test, model preparation, collecting and post-processing data, and holding data reviews with program engineers. The role will include standard lab and facility upkeep as well as frequent use of overhead cranes and mobile elevated work platforms.

What You'll Get to Do :

• Provide Antenna Test Engineering support for Radar Cross Section (RCS) test facilities

• Troubleshoot RF system issues during test

• Support technicians with troubleshooting and training

• Analyze test data and identify early trends

• Support program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions

• Collaborate with design engineering for hardware and test improvements

• Sensitivity to cost, schedule and quality as well as Northrop Grumman policies and procedures is imperative

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at a Principal Radar Cross Section (RCS) Test Engineer or a Sr. Principal Radar Cross Section (RCS) Test Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Radar Cross Section (RCS) Test Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in science, engineering, or other STEM-related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience -or- a Master of Science degree degree in science, engineering, or other STEM-related discipline plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience -or- a PhD in science, engineering, or other STEM-related discipline plus 0 years of experience.

  • Experience working in a Radar Cross Section (RCS) test facility

  • Experience configuring and mounting products in an RCS test facility

  • RF test experience and/or antenna range experience

  • U.S. citizenship with a current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain higher level clearances.

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Radar Cross Section (RCS) Test Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in science, engineering, or other STEM-related discipline plus a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience -or- a Master of Science degree degree in science, engineering, or other STEM-related discipline plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience -or- a PhD in science, engineering, or other STEM-related discipline plus 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience working in a Radar Cross Section (RCS) test facility

  • Experience configuring and mounting products in an RCS test facility

  • RF test experience and/or antenna range experience

  • U.S. citizenship with a current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain higher level clearances.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Experience in the use of overhead cranes and mobile elevated work platforms

  • Experience maintaining an antenna range facility

  • Software development experience pertaining to RCS analysis

  • Familiarity with RF and RCS analysis
