Northrop Grumman Principal Engineer Systems in Linthicum, Maryland
Northrop Grumman's Corporate Internal Audit department is seeking a Business Site Review Auditor to join our team of qualified, diverse audit staff. The Auditor will report to the Program EAC Audit team Manager.
As part of our mission, Northrop Grumman Corporate Internal Audit (NGIA) has an objective to develop and deploy Northrop Grumman business leaders. This is accomplished through bringing high potential individuals into IA to be groomed and eventually moved back into NG businesses as future leaders.
The NGIA is made up of experienced and respected professionals, many of whom have held senior positions in Northrop Grumman or at other organizations. Our audit professionals have worked in the Program Management, Business Management, Finance, Information Technology, and Quality Management fields.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supports the audit teams in performing engineering analysis on a variety of audits and related activities covering hardware, software and integration programs for all Northrop Grumman Products. Job duties include conducting program review audits, including assessments of:
Requirements management. Assuring that the programs have firm technical requirements and the baseline is adequate to meet them
Design Reviews. Validating that the design will meet requirements with appropriate margin to ensure compliance and maximize affordability
Risk/opportunity management. Assuring technical reasonableness in the basis of estimates for risks and opportunities
Change/data management. Evaluating the process for change/data management to ensure that no additional work above the technical cope if being completed
Planning and scheduling. Evaluating schedule duration for technical tasks based on historical actuals and engineering judgment
General reviews of sound program management and engineering practices
Supports business management audit activities such as Earned Value Management, Estimates At Complete (EACs), revenue recognition practices and analysis.
Candidate will interface with senior management on audit-related issues.
Under limited supervision the candidate is accountable for developing and executing audit programs and establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with auditees and affected management.

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math plus 5 years of relevant experience or Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math plus 3 years of relevant experience
Experience with or an understanding of Northrop Grumman or Aerospace Program Management competencies
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET Clearance
Ability to travel up 33% of the time
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms
Master's degree in Business Administration, engineering, or related field
Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
TOP SECRET Clearance with SCI Access
Familiarity of Aerospace and Defense Industry. Strong background in Government Contracting, a plus
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other similar certification
Experience with Root Cause/Corrective Action Analysis
