Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Manager General Manufacturing 2 to manage the Production Control organization. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of 10 to 15 professional and represented (union) employees in a manufacturing support environment.
What You'll get to Do:
Manage the controlled flow of material and hardware from receipt into a manufacturing area through delivery to the customer.
Direct and coordinate the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirements.
Oversee the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed.
Manage the priority and scheduling of equipment and personnel, the confirmation of material supply and demand, and the preparation of work order or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
Provide specific direction and training, as required.
Utilize both internal and external resources, and coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etc.
This person should possess communication, presentation and analytical skills.
Bachelor's degree + 9 years of relevant experience; Master's degree + 7 years of relevant experience; PhD + 4 years of relevant experience.
Understanding of manufacturing and production concepts.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance (US citizenship required).
Active DOD Secret Clearance.
At least 2 years of experience in management or leadership of people and/or processes.
Experience with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Experience working in a union represented environment.
Experience with production control and manufacturing processes.
