This position will be located at the Advanced Technology Laboratories in Linthicum, MD. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Microelectronics management team. The Engineering Managerbe responsible for the engineers, tools, and processes supporting the Assembly Areafor the wafer foundry; as well as, directing, planning, and supporting all wafer saw, die sort, packaging related assembly and associated environmental testing activities. The chosen individual must have an aptitude for laboratory and experimental work, as well as design of experiments. He/she must also have the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels in the organization and be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies
Responsible for meetingAssembly Areathroughput, product delivery,Assembly areayields, and overall assembly line quality and continuous improvement efforts
Involved in staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve the employee's highest potential
Provide Management with progress reports and presentations
Work independently across the organization to meetAssembly areaneeds and goals
Work closely with other departments within the organization to align manufacturing with development of new technology and business opportunities
Maintain a safe work environment
Create & maintain process documentation
Implement corrective actions and manufacturing cost reduction initiatives
Provide technical support to production operators and staff
Specify capital equipment requirements
Basic Qualifications: Associateâ€™s Degree or higher in business, engineering, or other technical area with 2 years experience supervising/managing process development efforts or manufacturing operations including planning and scheduling workflow with 5 years of related experience.
Basic understanding of semiconductor dice, sort and packaging processes.
Experience in the Semiconductor industry
Must be able to work in a dynamic environment
Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
Associateâ€™s Degree or higher in business, engineering, or other technical area with 2 years of experience supervising/managing manufacturing operations including planning and scheduling workflow OR High School diploma/GED with 5 years of experience in supervising/managing manufacturing operations
Technical knowledge and understanding of semiconductor processes and tool sets
Working knowledge of industry management methodologies focused on continuous process improvement in manufacturing such as SPC, 5S, Total Quality Management or Six Sigma.
Experienced in ISO 9001 or AS 9100 quality audits and requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of Industrial Hazardous Waste Management procedures
