Northrop Grumman Manager 2- Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in Linthicum, Maryland

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Manufacturing is seeking a Manager. This position is for a functional manager in the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) department within the Operations Center of Excellence (COE).

We are currently seeking an individual to manage professional and represented employees responsible for the following high level tasks:

• Implementation and maintenance of lead time planning initiatives within Baltimore manufacturing cells

• Guidance of COE MRP plan maintenance to ensure integrity and reflect executable plans

• Analyzing and processing Master Production Schedule requirements

• Review and release of material purchase requisitions

• Incorporation of engineering change notices into manufacturing and order bills of materials

The candidate will be expected to:

• Work with cross-functional representatives to implement and sustain lead time planning within Baltimore manufacturing cells;

• Investigate new tools or upgrades to existing tools to support lead time planning activities, including available software for capacity/resource planning;

• Work with large data sets such as MRP or capacity reports to extract meaningful visibility, identify patterns, and recommend process changes or develop strategies to support the organization;

• Develop collaborative relationships with COE functional stakeholders, including Operations Project Managers, Global Supply Chain, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Mission Assurance, to achieve scheduling culture change and ensure schedule compliance to government requirements;

• Manage employees to existing metrics and where needed identify and implement new metrics;

• Work with master planners and analysts to resolve master schedules and production problems;

• Constructively contribute to and/or identify future MRP scheduling initiatives;

• Resolve workload conflicts, make staffing decisions, and participate in departmental leadership discussions;

• Support existing COE and MRP visions;

• Communicate relevant information both up and down the functional organization;

• Foster innovation and implement continuous process improvement

• Cultivate an environment where employees will stay engaged;

• If not APICS CPIM certified, be willing to pursue certification path.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree plus 9 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with an Master's degree)

• Experience leading people and/or projects

• Familiarity with SAP

• Intermediate MS Excel / data analysis skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other technical or business related field

• 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing/supply chain environment

• Firm understanding of MRP fundamentals

• APICS CPIM Certification

• Advanced MS Excel / data analysis skills

• Previous experience with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and/or Operations Project Manager functions

• Previous experience with factory scheduling software

• Previous experience with continuous improvement projects and teams
