Northrop Grumman Facilities Planner in Linthicum, Maryland

Plans utilization of space and facilities for company consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency, modernization and available facilities and funds- collect, quantify, program, and prioritize various customer space projects. Plans, directs and manages all phases of facilities modification and building projects from establishment of design concepts through design and implementation. Ensures project requirements are defined, contract and contract changes are negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial terms/conditions of contract are identified. Ensures space and move projects are executed in accordance with established departmental, building, and client means, methods, and procedures. Develops and designs feasibility studies for review. Perform physical space audits and tactically plan seat assignments. Conduct furniture audits throughout the space noting any areas with excess furniture, non-standard furniture, and providing recommendations. Acts as primary contact for facilities, and equipment and machinery maintenance, project activities and leads project reviews of cost, schedule and technical performance. Maintains space, finish and furniture standards for the sector. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules. Identifies problems and develops solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing project scope. Track/conduct audits on capacity, space allocations and space requests. Coordinate scope of work with employees assigned to the project. Provide project support for large moves.

Facilities planners must have in-depth knowledge of the construction process for corporations and understand building codes, blueprints, and other industry documents. They must also understand all building codes, regulations, and safety practices incorporated into the work space. They may work with foremen and higher-level executives, and interpersonal skills are highly beneficial for success. They work primarily indoors in a range of hours and shifts depending on the employer.

Basic Qualifications:

3 Years with Bachelors; or 1 Year with Masters;experience to include: i.e. building codes, blueprints, and other industry documents, space planning, move process, facilities modifications, physical space audits, and/or furniture systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of move process and furniture systems.

Experience with database work order or CAFM system.

Ability to develop excellent client relations, client management and consultation skills.

Superior oral and written communication skills.

Software competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel and Visio

Client and customer service focused with strong organizational, technology and communication skills.
