Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeksan independent and resourceful Diffusion/ Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) Semiconductor Process Engineer 3/4 for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

The Diffusion/CVD Semiconductor Process Engineer 3/4 will be responsible for: (1) sustaining existing production and development processes, (2) designing and executing process/equipment improvement projects, (3) developing new processes based on production and development program requirements, and (4) training technicians and maintaining process documentation.

This position may be filled at the band 3 or band 4 level based on the qualificationslisted below.

Basic Qualifications for level 3:

  • BS degree in Materials Science, Electrical/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related discipline with 5 years of professional experience (3 years with MS, 0 years with PhD) in diffusion and/or chemical vapor deposition process engineering

  • Hands-on experience owning batch diffusion and/or thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) equipment

  • Experience with process sustaining and process development activities

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others and work independently

  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance

Basic Qualifications for level 4:

  • BS degree in Materials Science, Electrical/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related discipline with9 years of professional experience (7 years with MS,4 years with PhD) in diffusion and/or chemical vapor deposition process engineering

  • Hands-on experience owning batch diffusion and/or thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) equipment

  • Experience with process sustaining and process development activities

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others and work independently

  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience owning Thermco and/or MRL furnaces for diffusion/CVD processes

  • Experience with thin film characterization equipment

  • Experience with statistical process control and data analysis software (JMP, Minitab, SPACE, etc.)

  • Active Secret clearance
