Northrop Grumman Chemical Mechanical Polish/Planarization (CMP) Engineer 3/4 in Linthicum, Maryland

The Advanced Concepts and Technologies (AC&T) group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a CMP (ChemicalMechanical Polish/Planarization)Engineer for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly.

The CMP Engineer will be responsible for: (1) maintaining production processes, (2) designing and executing process improvement projects, and (3) training technicians and maintaining process documentation. The selected candidate will have an aptitude for technology development and demonstrated ability to communicate well with others and work independently.

The position is aday shift (1st shift) position.

This requisition may be filled as a level3 or a level4 based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for Band 3:

-BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials, Chemistry, Physics, or related technical discipline with 5 years of relevant semiconductor experience (3 with an MS, 0 with a Ph.D.)

-Experience as a CMP sustaining or development engineer

-Experience with relevant measurement techniques for pre- and post-CMP process characterization

-Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

-BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials, Chemistry, Physics, or related technical discipline with9 years of relevant semiconductor experience (7 with an MS,4 with a Ph.D.)

-Experience as a CMP sustaining or development engineer

-Experience with relevant measurement techniques for pre- and post-CMP process characterization

-Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

-MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Electrical Engineering-Expert in Statistical Process Control (SPC)

-Experience in CMP of non-standard metals / dielectrics

-Novel process development experience

-Proficient in equipment troubleshooting and optimization

-Current Secret Clearance

-Familiar with Applied Materials Mirra Platform
