Job Description

Extensive knowledge and experience in aircraft Flight Control installations, troubleshooting and rigging for old generation Boeing aircraft. Candidate must be able to show proof of experience with rigging of flight controls as well as knowledge of components and subsystems of the Flight Control system: flight control installations, cable rigging and adjustment of flight controls, landing gear installations and adjustments, engine installations, engine rigging and adjustment checks.

  • Troubleshoot all types of aircraft hydraulic, and pneumatic systems controlling and/or operating such mechanics as control surface, landing gear, brakes, nose wheel steering, anti skid, flaps and other hydraulically actuated components.

  • Diagnose and correct malfunctions of major aircraft system on old generation Boeing aircraft. Ability to makes necessary adjustments, replacements and modification of the systems.

  • Connect hydraulic test stand to aircraft; sets to operate at specified flow and pressure for system being checked.

  • Makes complete operation and functional checks to the entire hydraulic/or pneumatic systems and their hydraulically controlled or operated mechanisms and their emergency operated systems.

  • Remove, reinstalls and rigs landing gear struts and components to include operational checks and adjustments.

  • Troubleshoots malfunctions during these tests and takes corrective action such as adjusting valves to proper setting; uses high pressure air compressor to service struts and accumulators; and adjust or replaces parts as necessary to insure proper operations of all hydraulic systems within specified tolerances as given in T.O.’s.

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience. In Lieu of formal education, High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be able to obtain a secret DoD clearance with ability to maintain

  • Able to relay and receive information

  • Ability to work in collaborative team environment

  • Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours

  • Able to be subject to both external and internal environmental conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Boeing 707 series aircraft experience
