Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is searching for an Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Our team supports operational and business improvement across 1800 employees. This position will be located in Iuka, Mississippi.

We have a variety of shifts available to support a 24/7 operation and offer both 3 and 4 day shifts to cover days, nights and weekends.

This position is on-site in Iuka, MS and cannot be performed remotely.

Travel is estimated to 10%.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and iterate on detail production build schedules by working closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Operations.

  • Provide support to the manufacturing floor by working proactively with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions.

  • Utilize various Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity and optimize schedule.

  • Work with frontline leadership to assess current state reality and define future state possibilities

  • Provide tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and facilitate value generation

  • Conduct studies and generate metrics pertaining to efficiency, cycle times, work-in-progress, manpower, cost performance, and product delivery.

  • Partner with manufacturing management to develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence within program management and customers

  • Apply systems thinking in the development of metrics to improve product flow from the release of raw materials through product delivery.

  • Provide capacity planning, rate tool analyses, and facility layouts to ensure the ongoing success of composite operations.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Industrial Engineer (level 1) or an Industrial Engineer (level 2) based on the qualifications below.

Associate Industrial Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree. Note: An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Ability to work on an assembly floor.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Clearance is required to start.

Industrial Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 Years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 0 Years relevant experience. Note: An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Ability to work on an assembly floor.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Clearance is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)

  • Expertise using excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.

  • Experience with data analysis, or data visualization software applications

  • Active DoD clearance

  • Special Program Access

  • Demonstrated interest in leadership with community involvement, extracurriculars, etc.

Salary Range: $52,200 - $78,400

Salary Range 2: $63,000 - $94,600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
