Job Description:
The candidate will perform network engineering activities supporting all phases of systems development in the areas of Network Engineering. The candidate will be performing these duties on a later identified program in Huntsville, Alabama. The Candidate should be a well-rounded Network Engineer with skills in the following areas: Networking Fundamentals, Routing and Switching, Network Security, Troubleshooting/Problem Solving, and Communication and Collaboration.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Support the design and implementation of network architecture
Advanced Network Configuration
Conduct testing of network designs
Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
Conduct scheduled maintenance of network devices and software
Implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for networking devices and software
Work on multiple simultaneous tasks
Perform routine network administration tasks as needed
Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Assist the Infrastructure Team by offering technical expertise and guidance as needed
Train and support junior level employee
This position will be filled as a Level 4, Senior Principal Network Engineer.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate degree and 11 years of experience, or bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience, or master's degree and 7 years of experience; an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
A professional certification specific to the networking industry i.e., CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
Proficient Knowledge of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and dynamic routing protocols.
Proven experience with Cisco IOS, IOS XE, Nexus
Implementation of 802.1x
Working knowledge of Cisco ISE
CLEARANCE: Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Expert understanding of advanced features like ACLs, GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, VRF, and multicast.
Expert knowledge of Cisco ISE
Knowledge of IBCS
Experience with Stealth Watch
Working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
Experience integrating VMware architecture into networks
Prior exposure to military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures (Viasat/GD)
Salary Range: $107,000 - $160,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
