The Sr. Principal Cyber Dev Ops Engineer will serve as a Kubernetes administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and deploying applications in a Kubernetes environment. The duties are researching for automation, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring the team members. They promote security, efficiency, scalability of core services and capabilities. In addition, the administrator is responsible for:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
Developing Kubernetes-based solutions.
Improving Kubernetes infrastructure.
Creating the container infrastructure platform
Designing and implementing solutions
Enhancing delivery systems with Continuous Integration
Coordinating with other internal teams to meet goals
Deploying and monitoring applications in a Kubernetes environment
Configuring hardware, services, and managing settings and storage
Improving the monitoring and alert systems
Troubleshooting issues and solving problems where needed
Documentation and support
Additional needed skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic Qualifications:
Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
BS + 9 years of exp; MS + 7 years of exp; PhD + 4 years of exp or additional years in lieu of a degree
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e., Security+, etc.)
Strong understanding of on prem disconnected Kubernetes(Not cloud based) – Helm, custom deployments, Container Network Interfaces ,Container Storage Interfaces, general resources
Strong understanding containerization concepts – Building container images, dockerfiles, private registries, ansible builder, docker, podman, containerd, runc
IaC (Infrastructure as code) experience – Ansible Automation Platform, Execution Environments, CI/CD, GitOps, etc
Knowledge of container security concepts – Pod Security Standards, Pod Security Admission, Pod Security Context, etc
Strong understanding of Linux operating systems
Scripting – Python, Bash, etc
Understanding of basic networking concepts
Experience with hypervisors(Not cloud based) – ESXI, Harvester, Hyper-V. ETC
Experience in a disconnected multi-cluster environment
Ability to quickly learn and handle strict deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Longhorn, Neuvector, cert-manager, Metallb, Hashicorp Vault, ZARF. etc
Experience with RKE2 Kubernetes distribution
RHCSA/RHCE Certified
Experience writing Golang applications/Tools
CKA/CKS/CKAD Certified
Salary Range: $139,700 - $209,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
