Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Sr. Principal Database Administrator- 10662 . This position will be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.
What you will do:
Foster a working environment which reinforces and drives accountability to fundamental Northrop Grumman Values focused on integrity, quality, shared success, and innovation.
Implement and optimize the computerized database systems that support the Company's or client's ability to function on a daily basis.
Implement and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
Review database design and integration of systems, provides backup, recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
Maintain security and integrity controls.
Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
Administer a variety of database systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).
Develop and enforce database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.
Oversee the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple servers and remote sites.
Assist Software Engineers in the development and creation of SQL and Web-based databases and database systems.
Review technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff; researches and implements new database and online technology.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with minimum 10 years of database administration experience; Master's with minimum 8 years of experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience with Agile principles to include Kanban, Scrum
Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
US Citizenship
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Preferred degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) disciplines
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL database management systems
Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues
Operates independently with limited supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers
Strong understanding of Object Relational Mappers (ORM)
Ability to design and normalize database schemas
Basic understanding of code-first database migrations
Strong understanding of database / data replication in distributed networks/file systems
Experience in ETL, ELT, and Data Pipeline

Salary Range: $101,600 - $160,400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
