Roles and Responsibilities:
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's IBCS Cybersecurity team. The team ensures compliance with DoD directives such as 8510.01 and NIST 800-53 (RMF) for the IBCS development program to include the tactical system and development environment.
The Principal Cyber Systems Engineer will provide support for the Cybersecurity team in implementation and maintenance for RMF compliance, and in the development and interpretation of cybersecurity requirements as part of the Information Technology (IT) acquisition development process and assisting with the formulation of cybersecurity/IT budgets. This position is not limited to, but intended to focus in the area of Tactical / Enterprise hardening of systems
Cyber process / policy documentation will be generated and / or modified in this position. Customer interaction and/or presentation may also be required. Therefore good written and/or verbal communication skills are very important for this team.
The primary role of this position includes working as part of a team to: Analyze, estimate, validate and report to all levels from peers to senior decision makers on the Cyber Risk level of the program. This position will perform and/or evaluating vulnerability assessments on Windows and RedHat operating systems utilizing approved government provided Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). The candidate must interface with: system architecture design teams to provide feedback on cyber requirements; operations and support organizations to coordinate and perform regular cyber assessments. The performance of these tasks will identify deficiencies as well as potential improvements to the existing IBCS system's cyber posture and its ability to obtain/maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO). This position has the potential for opportunities to participate in projects concerning one or more of the following areas: Software Assurance, Site Assessments, Program Protection Planning (PPP), and/or RMF cyber system trade studies for various system architectures

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
HUNTSALMSTR Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of IT experience experience; or a Master's and 3 years; 4 additional years of IT experience in lieu of a degree
Active Secret clearance
This task requires advanced technical knowledge/experience of one or more of the following technical areas:
Windows Active directory administration
Red Hat Linux Administration
Tenable Security Center (Nessus &/or ACAS)
STIG/SCC tool experience
McAfee Application / Change control experience
Splunk (or similar log analytic tool) administrator experience.
Candidate must be willing to, and be capable of performing and/or evaluating vulnerability scans on systems utilizing approved system assessment tools and appropriate Government provided software / scanning tools
Ability to obtain DoD 8140/8570r2 baseline certification for an IAT Level II (minimum) within six (6) months of hire
Missile Defense experience
DoD 8140/8570r2 baseline certification for an IAT Level III
System Hardening and Vulnerability Management experience
Experience performing security audits (reviewing security log files / configuration files for anomalies)
Knowledge of the Systems Engineering Life Cycle
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with team members, managers, and customers on complex and difficult engineering/software issues pertaining to assigned tasks
