Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Computer Systems Analyst in Huntsville, AL.

Job Duties:

  • Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

  • Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

  • Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware in support of customer requirements.

  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.

  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.

  • Create and ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.

  • Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies such as VLANs, Trunking (port tagging), Spanning-Tree, and Port Security.

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, Opnet, SolarWinds, etc.).

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Experience configuring, installing, and maintaining encryption devices (TACLANES) as well as operating General Dynamic's GEM One and/or GEM X Enterprise Encryptor Management server.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • 5 Years or relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 Years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 Years of relevant experience with PhD. O r 4 additional years in lieu of a degree may be considered.

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.

  • US Citizenship.

  • Strong Network Engineering background and/or relevant and applicable certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE).

  • Experience with communication systems using heterogeneous networks.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Routing with the following protocols:

  • Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)

  • Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)

  • Intermediate System to Intermediate System (ISIS)

  • Experience with Security Solutions for networking (HAIPE Encryptors • Cross Domain Solutions • IPSec • mGRE/DMVPN, RADIUS)

  • Experience with Cisco Routers/Switches/Firewalls, Open-Source Routing (Quagga/FRR) Multicast IGMP • PIM • Quality of Service • DSCP/TOS • VRFs, Network Modeling/Prototype Virtualization • CML/VIRL/GNS34

  • Experience implementing government cyber security requirements, such as STIGs and RMF.

  • Experience in Network Engineering for designing and implementing secure networks with Information Assurance requirements (Cyber Security for Information Assurance).

  • Palo Alto Experience.

  • Network and Cyber Requirements Systems Engineering.

  • Extensive experience in Tactical Networks including Link16, CDL, TTNT, MADL to lead technology design in Cyber Security Information Assurance and DevSecOps process.

  • Extensive experience in Software Defined Networking; Network Function Virtualization; Network Services including DNS, VoIP, Network Management Tools.

  • Expert in Security Architecture design and Vulnerability Assessment for critical network infrastructure.

  • Experience with working with government/military personnel.

  • Network Analysis to define network performance & resiliency requirement.

Salary Range: $86,300 - $129,500

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
