Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Military Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals located in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Military Training Team. IBCS provides Command/Control and Integrated Fire Control capabilities for a distributed Air and Missile Defense Enterprise. The primary responsibilities involve conducting New Equipment Training (NET) prior to tests, logistic demonstrations, initial equipment fielding to military units and the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) schools' personnel. Training will be conducted at diverse locations nation-wide.

Provides consulting expertise to military or defense clients in the development and evaluation of military training and doctrine. May possess specialized expertise in planning and executing some or all phases of military training exercises, basic instructor certified, doctrinal development, scenario development, and after-action review and analysis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports training material developers and writers

  • Demonstrates specialized expertise in planning and executing all phases of military training exercises

  • Candidate can lift, carry, move, and use tool kits and equipment items up to 31 lbs in accordance with military standards for one-person tasks

  • Candidate may be required to perform tasks and duties in an austere environment with varying and potentially extreme environmental conditions

  • Candidate must meet and maintain Department of Defense contractor deployment requirements in accordance with DODI 3020.41 Operational Contract Support

  • Candidate can lift, carry, move, and use tool kits and equipment.

  • Required to travel up to 75%.

  • Participates in doctrinal development, embedded training scenario development, practical exercise development, test question development and after-action review and analysis

  • Conducts on-site training consisting of lectures, and practical exercises in accordance with approved programs of instruction using lesson plans, instructor guide, electronic technical manuals, interactive electronic technical manuals, student guides, handouts, practical exercise worksheets, and both written and hands-on evaluations

  • Writes and maintains detailed reports that summarize training event conduct and metrics such as student enrollment, student demographics, student attendance, student pass/fail percentages, suggested improvements to the course materials and training aids, etc

  • Performs preventive maintenance checks and services on government furnished equipment in accordance with approved technical manual procedures

Basic Qualifications:

This position can be filled as a Level II or III.

Military Trainer (Level II)

High school diploma/GED

Minimum of 7 years of professional and/or military experience

Experience:

  • Operating ADA systems; Knowledge of military operations, procedures, and training activities

  • Experience with military academic instruction at the individual and collective levels

  • Ability to support ADA System of System software installation and integration checkout

  • Current active Department of Defense Secret security clearance

  • Ability to Travel domestically and internationally up to 75%

  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Principle Military Trainer (Level III)

  • High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional and/or military experience

  • Execute as the expert in the field on IBCS system of system components

  • Ability to provide consulting expertise to military customer/user in the development and evaluation of military training and doctrine

  • Experience operating and deploying IBCS equipment

  • Prepare training plans according to program of instruction (POI) and training support packages (TSPs)

  • Must meet same basic qualifications as Level II

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Military Veteran with service as an Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Non-Commissioned, Warrant, or Commissioned Officer

  • Certified Military Instructor

  • Security + certified

  • Successful completion of an assignment at the US Army ADA Center and School serving in a training related role

  • Deployment experience operating ADA systems

  • Experience working with embedded training systems

Salary Range: $58,000 - $87,000

Salary Range 2: $71,400 - $107,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
