Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an OC2 Network Engineer. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will be part of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
Candidate will be able to perform the following essential functions:
•Designs and plans network communications systems
•Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
•Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
•Conduct testing of network design
•Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
•Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Education and Experience: 9 Years with BS; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
•US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 5.5 years)
•Strong Network & Security Engineering background and/or relevant and applicable certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, PCNSE and SANS)
•Experience with communication systems using heterogeneous networks
•Experience with Routing with the following protocols:
•Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
•Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
•Intermediate System to Intermediate System (ISIS)
•Extensive experience in Software Defined Networking; Network Function Virtualization; Network Services including DNS, VoIP, Network Management Tools
•Network Analysis to define network performance & resiliency requirement
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like SSAE18 SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, etc.
•Significant experience in Network and Cyber Requirements Systems Engineering, NetOPs/NOC desin integrated with program CyberOps
•Significant Experience with Security Solutions for networking (Encryptors • Cross Domain Solutions • IPSec • mGRE/DMVPN, RADIUS)
•Significant Experience with Cisco Routers/Switches/Firewalls, Open Source Routing (Quagga/FRR)
•ICBM Experience a Plus
•Expert in Security Architecture design and Vulnerability Assessment for critical network infrastructure
