Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an exciting career opportunity for a Systems Survivability Engineer willing to push the boundaries in a fast-paced, exciting environment and take us to the next level of Radar Cross-Section (RCS) integration technology. This position supports Northrop Grumman's South Bay Systems & Specialty Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) located in Redondo Beach, CA. This position will be located at an offsite location near Alamogordo, NM.
The selected Systems Survivability Engineer will support a diverse portfolio of internally and externally funded research and technology development activities. As part of your assignment, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to determine how survivability technologies can best be integrated into air-based systems within the NGAS portfolio through model and test support.
The Systems Survivability Engineer will be a part of an integrated product team (IPT), supporting multi-discipline advanced development programs and technology research and development (R&D). The Systems Survivability Engineer applies technical expertise in survivability design and integration, and has knowledge in the following related disciplines - design, integration, and test of military aircraft.
Apply previous experiences in aircraft design, fabrication, outdoor testing, and data post-processing to verify survivability designs for survivable systems, components, and antennas / sensors.
Perform his/her tasks within a collaborative work environment, effectively executing engineering tests and objectives.
Lead onsite operations with oversight and collaboration from a multi-location team of engineers and technicians.
Effectively communicate technical information and project status
Problem solve with the ability to develop innovative technical solutions to complex technical problems
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years engineering experience OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of engineering experience.
Experience working with measurement systems for collecting Radar Cross-Section (RCS) and gain.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with good technical writing skills and the ability to communicate and present technical data/material to various stakeholders.
A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Top Secret security clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
Master's Degree in an Electrical Engineering.
Working knowledge of radar collection systems.
Prior leadership or product management experience.
Leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience working in government approved Radar Cross-Section (RCS) measurement facilities conducting full scale RCS and gain measurement testing.
Experience working with model fabrication teams and test range requirements/restrictions.
Experience with antenna and sensor integration for a survivable platform.
Candidates with experience in signature integration, RF survivability design, analysis, and testing are highly desired.
Experience with RCS data processing tools, such as Knowbell, Saber, or Pioneer RCS.
