Northrop Grumman is seeking Mid-Level Systems Engineers. These positions will be with our Technology Services sector located at Hill AFB, Utah.
Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
The successful applicant will:
Apply the principles of systems engineering to test planning, test conduct, and test reporting to verify component and system design requirements against applicable standards and specifications
Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses associated with managed test items
Perform test planning and requirements analysis, generate and maintain test data, generate test procedures and prepare daily status reports for customers and management during on-going test programs
Support planning for verification using modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
Support AF customer's pre- and post-test internal review meetings, including Technical Review / Safety Review Boards, Test Approval Boards, as required
Prepare inputs for and participate in Test Readiness Review (TRR) and Functional Configuration Audit (FCA)
Provide support to systems engineering processes as required for unit-under-test development, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the systems engineering and test functions
Interface with AF customer
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below .
This position may be filled at a level 3 or level 4
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degreein Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
Minimum 5 years of related experience with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Master's (Level 4 requires 9 years with a Bachelor's degree, 7 years with a Master's,4 years with a PhD)
US Citizen able to obtain a Secret clearance
Active Secret clearance or higher
5 years of experience with ICBM Weapon System
Experience with any of the following tools and languages: CORE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, ModelCenter, MagicDraw, Easy Power, Prima Vera, UML, SysML
Strong written and verbal communication skills
5 years of experience in Systems and Test Engineering and any of the following areas:
Test Plan and Test Report development
Test procedures development
Test conduct, test log, and test anomaly management
Requirements Management: MBSE, Functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
Systems and end item requirements validation and verification
Design: Systems Design, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies
General knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines: Safety, Nuclear Hardness, Nuclear Surety, Material Science, Environmental, Parts and Logistics, etc
Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis
Decision Making: Risk Management, Cost-Risk-Benefit Analysis
