Northrop Grumman's Space Systems - Propulsion Systems is currently seeking an Aeronautical Engineer specializing in ordnance to provide talent to our Air Force Programs Project Engineering (39H0) team supporting several locations within Propulsion Systems, but home location would in our Hill Air Force Base , UT offices.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
The Future ICBM Sustainment and Acquisition Contract (FISAC) Propulsion Subsystem Support Contract (PSSC) Aeronautical/Ordnance Engineer is responsible for ensuring sustainment engineering of the Minuteman III weapon system at the Hill Air Force Base facility. Functions as a Project Engineer within the PSSC Project Engineering Team with shared responsibilities for all aspects of sustaining the Minuteman III propulsion system.
Overall responsibility: Provides technical support of the Air Force Minuteman III missile system for the ordnance and solid rocket motor subsystems by defining, organizing, and managing assigned PSSC projects from conception through execution.
Major roles and responsibilities include: Providing technical support of Ordnance Aging and Surveillance (AS) activities with some responsibilities for Solid Propulsion AS for the Minuteman III system. Coordinates AS testing and analyses and performs modeling of subsystems as required. Functions as part of a customer directed Integrated Product Team (IPT), working directly with the customer and subcontracted suppliers to support ongoing Minutemen III system maintenance operations to ensure missile force readiness. Develops component and system AS test requirements, planning and procedures, oversite of testing, and performs analyses of test data to provide Service Life Estimates. Develops component repair and refurbishment processes and procedures. Investigates and resolves performance issues. Uses specific knowledge to successfully research, plan, communicate and achieve objectives through program and/or project team. Analyzes, evaluates, and plans methods of approach and organized means to integrate new products, technologies, or materials into the system. Supports Air Force procurement activities as requested by the Government. Directs projects and coordinates activities concerned with technical activities and project schedules to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. The assignment will be under the direction of the FISAC PSSC Chief Engineer.

Test planning role for Aging and Surveillance tests for Service Life Estimates
Perform modeling of ordnance systems and components as required
Represent the PSSC program to the Air Force customer at the Hill Air Force Base office
Participate in and provide technical guidance within the customer directed Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
Skills & Qualifications:

Excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to listen as well as communicate up, down, and across the organizational structure within and across programs, functions, and organizations from operators to executive VP level management in the audience's own language.
Demonstrated public speaking and effective technical communication ability
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining focused results within reliability, quality, schedule, and budget requirements / constraints
Ability to create and present Technical justification of problem resolution for issues associated with Aging and Surveillance, design, and field service
Demonstrated successful ability to solve complex problems (use of Decision Focus, Fault-tree, Kepner Tregoe, Fishbone diagrams are examples)
Existing DoD clearance or ability to obtain clearance
Drafting, drawing preparation, and GD&T skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture
