The SMORS team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team!
Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants for positions on the Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program. The SMORS program is looking to fill positions in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Network Communications, and engineering technician roles. These positions will be located at Cavalier AFS, North Dakota.
Sustainment and Modification of Radar Sensors (SMORS) is anchored on the imperative of sustaining uninterrupted surveillance capabilities in spite of ever-evolving threats to our nation, warfighters, and critical space assets. The SMORS capabilities and mission are critical to national security through timely missile warning and accurate attack assessment.
Northrop Grumman integrates our sustainment function and systems engineering to perform sustaining engineering, analyzing key performance measures and metrics to evaluate and provide insight into system health and performance. Northrop Grumman monitors subsystem and component risks, such as performance degradation, obsolescence, vanishing vendor, or supplier foreign acquisition, to effectively provide product support and prevent adverse mission impact. Our approach shifts sustaining engineering from interval-based, reactive actions to reliability-centered, proactive activities; reducing life cycle costs by sustaining SMORS contract-covered systems before system performance impacts. Our risk-focused, metrics-driven, Integrated Engineering Management (IEM) approach, supported by Model Driven Engineering (MDE) techniques, manage all systems engineering activities to ensure an accurate, maintainable baseline and clearly defined requirements, while focusing on the objective of maintaining system performance and effective product support.
Our SMORS program in partnership with the Air Force Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division will be one of transparency, accountability to high ethical and performance standards, and dedication to management, engineering, and logistics excellence.
