Mission Enabling Products (MEP), an organization within Northrop Grumman’s Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, is a leading designer, producer, and supplier of spacecraft components that power and enable satellites of all classes. Products include spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical structures, deployable structural systems and mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. Our products are on virtually every U. S. satellite built in the last 20 years.
The Deployables team is looking for a Quality Analyst to support our talented team of engineers, managers and technologists who conceive, design, develop and manufacture high precision products in an environment that requires significant collaboration and teamwork among multiple engineering disciplines. The position may be located in either Goleta or Oxnard, CA. This position is 100% on-site .
This position may be filled as either a Quality Analyst (level 2) or a Principal Quality Analyst (level 3).

Overview
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Analyst will develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, composite, rigid and ultra-flex components and sub-systems. Be strategic in the identification of technical needs and solutions coupled with a strong program execution focus. Possess excellent communication skills and effectively interface with the Deployables Value Stream of products, suppliers, and customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
Evaluates conformance to established company and regulatory standards of deliverable items, including but not limited to materials, equipment, tooling, data/documents, composite, rigid and ultra-flex components and sub-systems
Develops and maintains documentation and records related to program specific Quality Assurance objectives and responsibilities
Develops and implements program quality plans, schedules, and procedures to meet BU objectives using statistical quality control data, lean program concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses
Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, supplier, and government customer representatives to ensure requirements are met
Investigates problems and assists in developing disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies
Basic Qualifications for a level 2:
Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 3 years of related industry experience , an additional four years’ experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Experience as a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, or other supporting role within Quality
Experience with AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) standards
Strong problem solving and collaboration skills and verbal/written communication skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
US Citizenship is a requirement for employment
Basic Qualifications for a level 3 (Principal):
Bachelor's degree and 6 years related industry experience; OR four years experience with a Masters degree
Experience as a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, or other supporting role within Quality
Experience with AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) standards
Strong problem solving and collaboration skills and verbal/written communication skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
US Citizenship is a requirement for employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline or Quality Management experience
Experience in DoD, Aerospace, medical devices and/or similar Fabrication Manufacturing
AS9100/ISO 9001 auditor certification/experience
Experience in materials testing methods, procedures, failure modes, environmental effects
Experience in composite, rigid and ultra-flex components and sub-systems
FMEA, RCCA, Risk management, or Quality auditing experience
Functional knowledge of production control systems (MES, Costpoint, Mfg/etc.)
Experience implementing ISO 9000, AS9100, TL9000, TS16949, ISO 13485, and/or CMMI for Development
Salary Range: $72,100 - $108,100
Salary Range 2: $88,700 - $133,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
