Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a self-motivated, hard-working full-time Logistician for the Japan Global Hawk Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) Program in Misawa, Japan. Stand-up processes, procedures, and material management system to support the Japan Global Hawk program. Develops and administers integrated logistics strategies, including supply chain activities from point of manufacture through information management support, deployment freight, warehousing, customer freight, order management, customer warehousing, customer store shipment, and customer placement. Responsible for ordering, expediting and tracking all Japan Global Hawk material requirements. Maintain daily updates in Global Hawk maintenance/repair tracker. Responsible for Inventory Control and accountability of Government Furnished Property. Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints. Prepares logistics documents for purchasing of common and peculiar supply support for all emergency and non-emergency items. Receives, inspects for conformance, stores, and issues, replenishes, inventories and accounts for all government property. Responsible for the initiation, shipping, tracking, expediting and receiving and inspects for conformance of all repairable materials through Japan government, US Government and contractor processes. Responsible for Packing and Handling to support shipping of repairs on-site in Japan. Develops and maintains all related files and databases pertinent to the repair process. Coordinates with purchasing, manufacturing, engineering and subcontractors to expedite material requirements.

Position will start in the U.S. for 4-6 months to support preparation of logistics processes and plans prior to deployment to Misawa, Japan for a 2-year assignment. 50% domestic travel to San Diego, CA, Palmdale, CA, and/or Sierra Vista, AZ is expected during the 4-6 period in the U.S.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate technical discipline and 10 years of relevant logistics experience OR; High School diploma and eight 14 years of relevant logistics experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tool suite and software analysis tools

  • Must be a US Citizen with current DoD Secret Clearance

  • Able to commit to 2 year overseas assignment to Misawa, Japan

  • Must be able to support the 24/7 operations environment and adapt to changing priorities based on mission need

  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Former Aviation Logistics specialist is highly desirable, Global Hawk preferred

  • Experience in property management

  • Packaging, Handling, Shipping & Transportation experience

  • Management of government furnished property/equipment

  • Material management system experience

  • Experience supporting a foreign customer, Japan preferred
