Northrop Grumman Sr. Principal Engineer Quality in United States,

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Software Quality Engineer 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Orlando Florida.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Northrop Grumman's Quality and Mission Assurance team for the SATCOM Ground Systems Department and will be responsible for Quality and Mission Assurance support for the Common Network Planning Software (CNPS) Program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Sr. Software Quality Engineer will ensure compliance with all quality and mission assurance related contractual requirements, and sector policies and procedures, while contributing to the program's effective process implementation.

Tasks include:

  • Leading all quality processes for the program (e.g., audits, independent reviews, quality planning, quality documentation, vendors, parts, program corrective action tracking/reporting, program reporting)

  • Quality representation in program baseline management activities (e.g., PCCB, peer reviews, code reviews, release planning, configuration management, CCB, test witnessing)

  • Active participant in Program Management and Agile Execution (e.g., Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Sprint Retrospectives, metrics, PMRs, IPRs, plus list above) to include working with Scrum master and program team on making process improvements

  • Generate and report program Quality Metrics (e.g., IPRs, monthly reports)

  • Lead Program Risk & Opportunity Management Board (ROMB) and processes (e.g., monthly risk meetings, monthly risk reporting, PMRs, Risks)

The successful candidate will have an understanding of Satellite Communication Systems and software quality and mission assurance principles, the discipline to enforce them, and will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work closely and effectively with program personnel.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field and 9 years of related experience in supporting systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, software development, software test processes, or program management.

  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience performing the duties of a Quality Assurance Lead

  • Ability to execute processes as documented and follows governance processes

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Satellite Communication Systems Experience

  • Six Sigma - Black Belt

  • Experience with AS9100, ISO900, and/or ISO27001 standards

  • CMMI process experience & training

  • AGILE / SCRUM TEAM process experience & training

  • Must be able to multi-task and quickly adapt to change when issues arise

  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal business/technical teams and external customer
