Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Principal OR Sr. Principal Operations Support Engineer (OSE) to maintain innovative and complex systems with our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Alice Springs, Australia and offers opportunities for both individual activities and collaborative efforts in support of complex systems..

As an OSE you will be responsible for activities included but not limited to:

  • Performing operational systems analysis, monitor daily and seasonal system data trending, and implement real-time anomaly resolution.

  • Serving as Responsible System Engineer (RSE) / Performance Monitoring Engineer (PME) for designated systems

  • Reviewing performance data, crew guidance, procedure updates, and training material for all systems

  • Maintaining and developing needed tools and scripts in MATLAB, Perl, DCL

  • Developing and validating operational procedures

  • Supporting technical and engineering tasks related to system hardware

  • Reviewing factory design and development activity for impacts to system operability

  • Successfully completing and maintaining crew certification by providing crew backfill

  • Supporting anomaly resolution by being on call on a 24x7 basis

  • Assisting the training department in the execution of initial and advanced operator training

  • Interfacing with USG customers via technical exchanges in multiple venues

The successful candidate must pass a comprehensive physical and psychological examination prior to beginning this assignment.

An initial two year tour commitment is required.

A comprehensive overseas compensation package is offered with this position including relocation.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Operations Support Engineer

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline from an accredited institution with five (5) years of relevant technical experience in an engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, computer science, or optical engineering

  • OR three (3) years with a Masters Degree

  • Two (2) or more years of system operations or system development experience

  • Proficiency in the use of LINUX, Perl, MATLAB, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and communicate technical documentation / information, both written and orally, to a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Active TS/SSBI or SCI Clearance

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Operations Support Engineer

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline from an accredited institution; and nine (9) years of relevant technical experience in an engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, computer science, or optical engineering

  • OR seven (7) years with a Masters Degree

  • Two (2) or more years of system operations or system development experience

  • Proficiency in the use of LINUX, Perl, MATLAB, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and communicate technical documentation / information, both written and orally, to a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Active TS/SSBI or SCI Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mission 1 experience

  • Ability to productively interact within a geographically diverse team setting to build a positive and cohesive work environment with demonstrated organizational skills

  • Possession of an active SCI or DoD Top Secret clearance with an SSBI and counterintelligence polygraph examination updated within the last four (4) years
