Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer - (OA) Operations Analysis to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be reporting out of Northrop Grumman's South Bay Systems & Specialty Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) located in Redondo Beach, CA. Work will require the ability to travel 100% of the time to support the program efforts.
The qualified applicant will support a diverse portfolio of research and technology development activities. As part of your assignment, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to determine how survivability technologies can best be integrated into air-based systems within the NGAS portfolio.
Northrop Grumman is one of the industry leaders in Stealth Technology. As such, we are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) platforms. We are currently looking for experienced Low Observable / Survivability Engineers to work on a variety of challenging projects. One area where we are in need of talent is in support of Operational Analysis (OA).
Activities include supporting military threat modeling and performance assessments and system survivability analyses.
Candidate will communicate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities, and communicate technical abilities and analysis with internal stakeholders and external customers.
Candidate should expect a significant amount of travel in this position for extended periods of time.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of engineering experience OR a Master's Degree and 3 years of experience.
Experience with various threat systems including radar, Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR)/Acoustic, Electronic Attack/Electronic Warfare (EA/EW) systems, and low observables (LO).
Experience in survivability techniques, special technologies, and applications to platforms with the ability to identify and quantify effects of technologies to vehicles.
Ability to travel 100% of the time to support the program efforts.
A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Top Secret security clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
Experience in generating test plans, analysis plans, test execution, and data analysis.
Ability to model and analyze in one or more of the following areas is required: EW/EA systems, radar sensor (to include early warning/surveillance, surface to air/air to air), threat system integration, and advanced sensors.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office with strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate and present technical material to various stakeholders.
Familiarity in writing scripts for post processing data and data parsing tailored for unique test needs.
