Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Network Communications Engineer with experience in formal engineering life-cycle processes to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals Cavalier Air Force Base, North Dakota to meet challenging issues confronting national security.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Performing sustainment and modification associated tasks on the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS).

  • Work through increasingly complex problems, utilizing ingenuity, innovation, thoroughness, and practicality; and perform their work with minimal direction and oversight.

  • Deal with non-commercial and commercial network communications hardware and provides scalable solutions to critical missions and data types as required by contract requirements.

  • Work will also include definition of system requirements, engineering trades and analyses, and verification and validation activities as directed by customer change requests and ongoing corrective actions to existing radar, data and signal processing, and user interface equipment.

  • Maintains smooth operation of local area, worldwide and virtual private networks (VPN).

  • Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.

  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

  • May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.

  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.

  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.

  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.

  • May design network or portion of network that include selection of hardware and software packages.

MSCOMSTR

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreein an engineering or related fieldwith at least 5 years related experience in Ground Service, Field Service, Radar, Hardware or RF Engineering; or 3 years experiencewith a Masters; or9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Radars and other SIGINT Systems

  • Experience with requirements tracking systems

  • Model Based engineering experience

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office tools

  • Experience with determining required hardware based on performance and other requirements

  • Experience with export licenses prior to exporting hardware

  • Experience purchasing hardware and tracking licenses

  • Experience documenting hardware and network configurations

  • The preferred candidate will have experience with radar, varied network communications to include computing systems, and should be able to work and function in a dynamic environment where requirements can change according to the customer needs.
