Northrop Grumman Japan GH Aircraft Mechanic 3/4 (Misawa, Japan) in International Posting,

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a self-motivated, hard-working full-time Aircraft Mechanic 3 or 4 for the Japan Global Hawk Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) Program in Misawa, Japan. The selected candidates will perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various vehicle systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions and applicable regulations. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Maintains applicable required records, manuals and inspection forms. Recommends corrective actions and resolves problems using technical publications and analytic techniques. Removes, repairs, and replaces malfunctioning components. Prepares aircraft surfaces and applies sealants, adhesives and associated chemicals. Stores, handles, uses and disposes of hazardous material and waste. Initiates deficiency reports, maintenance analysis documents, technical data change, and equipment records. Records information on maintenance data collection forms and automated systems. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Provide over the shoulder training to the Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) customer when required. Position will require business travel to Palmdale, CA for training prior to deployment (expected deployment to Misawa is Q4 2021). Assignment to Misawa AB will be for at least 2 years and will be accompanied.

This Requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • High school or equilavent with 4 years of relevant experience

  • A basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must be a US Citizen with current DoD Secret Clearance

  • Able to commit to 2 year overseas assignment to Misawa, Japan

  • Must be able to support the 24/7, fast paced, operations environment and adapt to changing priorities based on mission need

  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends as required

Basic Qualifications for Level 4:

  • High school or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience

  • A basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must be a US Citizen with current DoD Secret Clearance

  • Able to commit to 2 year overseas assignment to Misawa, Japan

  • Must be able to support the 24/7, fast paced, operations environment and adapt to changing priorities based on mission need

  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • (FAA) Airframe and Power plant (A&P) desired

  • Certified UAV Technician / Aircraft Electronics Technician

  • Working knowledge of maintenance databases

  • Air Force avionics maintenance experience

  • Fuel Cell qualified with a working knowledge of AF Tech Order 1-1-3

  • Worked on previous Global Hawk maintenance program
