Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for I&T. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Gilbert, Arizona.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Tactical Space Systems.
This position is defined as a Principal Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) design engineer. Mechanical Ground Support Equipment is used to support the integration, test and launch of spacecraft. The candidate will support the design modeling and drawing efforts utilizing Creo. In particular, the Engineer will create or update layout drawings, fabrication drawings and engineering change orders, give design review presentations and perform some fundamental types of analysis (e.g. strength of materials).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related area and 5 years of related experience OR Master's Degree and 3 years of experience
At least 3 years' experience with design modeling and drawing efforts using 3-D modeling tools
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI access
Preferred Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
Previous experience in MGSE design, fabrication, and proof load testing
Demonstrated ability/desire to lead design efforts of less experienced engineers
Experience in structural analysis using hand calculations and Finite Element Methods
Salary Range: $92,000 - $113,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
