Education and Experience
This position entails the manufacture of aerospace thermal blankets, comprised of thin, fragile films sewn and taped together. Working in the Multi-Layer Insulation area (MLI). Assembly is performed in a Professional atmosphere in a Clean Room environment. Daily work attire includes lab coat and latex gloves at all times. Use of industrial sewing machine, scissors, X-acto knives and common hand tools. Operation of Gerber automated cutting machine and related software.
This Sr. Manufacturing Technician should be capable and experienced in working in a broad based manufacturing environment. Technician will work with a Team of several people and take direction form a Manufacturing Eng. Will ultimately report to Sr. Manager of Operations
The candidate must work well alone and within a team environment. Must possess good problem solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and work with limited supervision. Must be a self starter, must be self motivated, and a team player. Familiarization with ESD, FOD, 5S, and Tool Control required.
A High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of seven years of related experience in the above manufacturing processes required. Must have the ability to be certified to applicable NASA and IPC J-Std processes
Must be mechanically inclined and work well with hands
Attention to details and high level of craftsmanship
Operation of industrial sewing machine
Follow verbal and written work instructions
Willing and fast learner, able to complete tasks with little supervision
Must be flexible and able to adapt to frequent changes in task assignments
Read engineering drawings a must
Proficient use of MS Word and Excel
Ideal candidate will have:
Computer aided design or cutting experience
Previous position in aerospace or similar engineering and manufacturing environment
Previous textile design and manufacturing (clothing, fabrics, commercial)
