Sr. Principal Sustainment Lifecycle Manager (Engineer 4)

The Northrop Grumman F-35 Lightning Sustainment Center (LSC) is seeking a new member to provide analytical decision support to the F-35 program located in Fort Worth, TX . We are looking for a passionate aviation nose-to-tail sustainment subject matter expert, to serve as the Northrop Grumman System Sustainment Lifecycle (SLCM) Manager for F-35 Sustainment. We are looking for someone self-motivated, hardworking, and have demonstrated the ability to find innovative solutions to complex sustainment technical and logistics problems.
Responsibilities include:
Oversees sustainment integration activities of mission system avionics and structural air systems to ensure alignment and synchronization across the F-35 enterprise to effectively deliver world-class sustainment support to global F-35 customers.
Performs integration across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) including engineering, sustainment, and procurement.

Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)
Maintenance, Upgrade & Overhaul (MUO)

As the Sustainment Lifecycle Manager , this position also provides sustainment product support integration, coordination, and oversight to improve aircraft availability and reduce life-cycle support costs. The Sustainment Lifecycle Manager is directly involved in the planning, development, and execution of technical and sustainment improvement projects. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification & validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system products to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, supportability and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Tasks include, but not limited to:
Project management of complex technical and sustainment improvement initiatives
Application of extensive maintenance expertise to plan, coordinate, and partner with industry teammates to resolve a variety of fleet technical issues
As sustainment subject matter expert, supports long-term sustainment strategies across the F-35 enterprise
Investigates and analyzes operational sustainment challenges to develop recommended solutions that detail impacts, risk, resource requirements, and potential efficiencies while ensuring solutions meet program safety and performance standards
Briefs results and recommendations of various technical and sustainment projects to senior leadership and the customer
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills. Must be highly collaborative to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. The candidate must be able to effectively navigate inter/intra-organizational, and external customer relationships. The candidate must possess critical & analytical thinking skills, the ability to lead and work independently, business acumen, and the ability to produce superior work products under short deadlines.
- The candidate must possess an active Secret Security Clearance and must be a United States citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:
Bachelor of Science degree (STEM); 10 years of related professional experience in military aircraft sustainment, maintenance operations or production
Military Crew Chief experience highly desired
Project Management skills to coordinate complex, technical and sustainment improvement projects
Strong communication skills with experience preparing for and briefing senior leaders on complex, technical and sustainment challenges impacting aircraft fleet readiness
Experience leading, coaching and developing team-members
Current US Secret Level Security Clearance
Supply chain management and procurement experience
Desired Skills:
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an engineering or related discipline
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
3 years F-35 experience working in sustainment, logistics, engineering, maintenance or lifecycle support
Experience with military service aircraft, logistics operations and customers to include Foreign Military Sales
Demonstrated ability to develop data driven solutions for complex sustainment challenges
Knowledge of integrated product support elements and Performance Based Logistics concepts
Proficient in defining and incorporating sustainment technical requirements in support of program execution, problem resolution, and Concept of Operation development
Capability to integrate across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) including engineering, sustainment, and procurement
Clearance Level: Secret
Schedule for this Position: 4/10 every Friday off
Salary Range: $115,400 - $173,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
