Military Trainer and exercise support staff for Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) simulation command post exercises to train Division and Corps Commanders and their staffs during Warfighter and Mission Rehearsal exercises. As the Engineer Command Post Player (CPP) individual performs Corps/Division Engineer duties for Warfighter exercises for the WCOPFOR Division of Ops Group X. Coordinates all engineer activities and participates in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), Course of Action (COA) development and Wargaming sessions in conjunction with other Warfighter function subject matter experts and other WCOPFOR Army Staff. The Engineer Staff Officer is required to be expert in all engineer aspects of Opposing Forces doctrine and tactics and is a primary instructor/trainer for other CPPs including part-time on-call exercise support staff during WFXs on engineer matters. Required to research, document and teach a myriad of military subjects for Warfighter preparations as well as supervise the preparation of current and future plans during exercises. The Engineer CPP is responsible for all aspects of the Engineer portions of planning, preparation and delivery of the Competitive Command Post Campaign Plan and Combat Orders for each MCTP Warfighter exercise (WFX).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares engineer portion of campaign plans, combat orders and instructions for each exercise scenario plan to include control graphics.
Reviews computer simulation placement of engineer units assigned into doctrinal formations, ensuring situated to the terrain and is tactically correct representation based on combat orders and the scenario.
Writes orders and generates reports as directed.
Keeps other command post players apprised of current and unusual activity.
May deploy to various countries, as required, in support of U.S. military operations.
a. Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university.
b. Six years U.S. military service,Field GradeOfficer.
c. Familiar with current Army/Joint doctrine.
d. Highly proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access).
e. U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, or MEL 4 equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE).
Security: Must have, or be able to obtain, a DoD SECRET Clearance.
a. Two years experience in design, planning, configuration, and conduct of large-scale computer simulation exercises.
b. Previous experience in computer assisted simulation training. Experienced in WARSIM simulation.
c. Battalion/Brigade or higher engineer staff officer experience.
d. Prior experience as an MCTP Observer Controller/Trainer or as a serving officer in Ops Group X-Ray, MCTP.
