Northrop Grumman Corporate Strategy & Development in Falls Church, Virginia is seeking a Senior Director of Strategic Planning to support the execution of the company's growth strategy. The successful candidate will support the following team objectives:
• Provide objective analysis and independent views to executive leadership on critical issues
• Drive ongoing revenue synergies by developing companywide strategies that leverage capabilities across the sectors
• Create competitive advantage by working to better focus investments
The Senior Director of Strategic Investments will lead the company's portfolio assessment and mergers & acquisitions & divestitures ("MA&D") projects aligned with the company's growth objectives.
This position will manage a diverse group of corporate, sector, business unit, and external subject matter experts; develop the strategic rationale for MA&D transactions; and lead all business diligence and transaction-related activities.
The position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Strategy, and will interact with all key members of the Chief Strategy and Development Officer's staff.
This position will also be responsible for developing and coordinating the MA&D strategies for key strategic arenas within the sectors and lead M&A origination by identifying and monitoring potential M&A candidates in coordination with sector strategy executives.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Leadership skills to collaborate and engage across the company
Strong Program Management skills capable of leading large groups of geographically dispersed experts
Strong analysis and financial modeling skills
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to work well with external buyers and sellers to define an executable transaction that works for both parties
Prior experience in large and complex organizations leading M&A transactions
Proven ability to work well across all levels of management
Bachelor's degree with 13 years of experience
Demonstrated proficiency with Program Management skills leading large teams
Demonstrated proficiency with analysis and financial modeling skills
Experience in large and complex organizations leading mergers, acquisitions and divestitures transactions
Master's degree with 10 years of experience
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to work well with external buyers and sellers to define an executable transaction which works for both parties
Proven ability to work well across all levels of management and collaborate with various business and functional areas
