Northrop Grumman's Corporate Office is seeking a highly motivated leader with a passion for driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) across the enterprise.

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Responsibility, the Director of DE&I will be responsible for helping drive the creation, maintenance, development, and execution of corporate DE&I programs within the organization. This role will focus on expanding impact, identifying opportunities, and the development of strategic initiatives, campaigns, and educational programs for our corporate programs which will ultimately position Northrop Grumman as a DE&I leader in our industry.

The Director will be responsible for assessing current DE&I activities and managing the implementation of the company's DE&I strategy annually and in regard to our strategic plan . This position will focus on executing best practices for Northrop Grumman's DE&I initiatives, including but not limited to strategy creation, compliance, policy updates, marketing, communications, and investor reporting around DE&I initiatives. In collaboration with HR & Business Leaders, this director will implement specific enterprise diversity objectives, and business plans to align inclusion initiatives with business strategies & metrics focusing on the workplace, workforce, marketplace & community.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership impact while collaborating with business and functional leaders to develop and implement strategies that drive best in class DE&I results.

We will look for this director to do the following:

  • Help lead the evolution of Northrop Grumman's DE&I program in partnership with Executive and Functional Leadership and other key partners

  • Help develop an annual and long-term strategic DE&I action plan that addresses the evolution of our industry, aligns with Northrop Grumman's strategic goals, and drives value for Northrop Grumman and it's investors

  • Leverage experience and industry network to identify and engage stakeholders and partners key to the DE&I program's success and our corporate strategy

  • Engage in stakeholder engagement by initiating and building relationships with key thought leaders and organizations within the external DE&I community

  • Set direction and help set priorities

  • Partner with internal team members and external stakeholders to create and implement DE&I programs, campaigns, resources, and content

  • Evolve our KPI's to assess the impact of the program, maintain industry relevancy, and proactively meet investor expectations

  • Lead and mentor team members to support execution of the function

  • Help build DE&I into the DNA of the organization

  • Provide the necessary leadership to promote change throughout the organization and continue to develop a world class DE&I organization

  • Help establish a culture of accountability throughout the organization by facilitating an effective goal deployment that aligns with business unit and corporate goals

  • Serve as a leading expert in helping provide DE&I educational programs, to the employee population

  • Facilitate opportunities for employee training, collaborate with human resources to enhance recruitment, hiring, promotion and retention of diverse staff, and provide support to employees with diverse experiences and backgrounds.

  • Ensure diversity outcomes are reflected in the workforce/workplace & in business activities, including marketing materials, suppliers/vendors & community-facing efforts

Expertise Needed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field; Master's Degree in related field preferred

  • 10+ years of professional experience and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in corporate DE&I/ ESG reporting in a large company ($5B+ in annual revenue)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and passion for, DE&I issues, and industry-wide trends

  • Ability to communicate effectively using both, oral and written communication skills, to all levels of the organization

  • Proven ability to work effectively and cooperatively across all divisions of the organization

  • Strategic and analytical thinking skills with the ability to analyze data to make appropriate business recommendations and help shape business strategy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships both in one-on-one situations, as well as in a team setting

  • Ability to think creatively when problem-solving for new solutions

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, while maintaining flexibility

  • High level of independence, ability to innovate, ability to work under pressure, and comfortable taking ownership and primary responsibility for deliverables

  • Proven first-rate leadership skills

  • Ability to hold a Secret government clearance (preferred)

Salary Range: $168,800 - $253,200

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
