Northrop Grumman Cost Accountant 4 in Falls Church, Virginia
This important Corporate Office position supports the FAR requirement to submit annual Incurred Cost proposals. The primary areas of focus for this position are to perform current year cost accounting transaction audits to validate expenses as allowable, and to support DCAA requests for information (RFI's) related to prior year submissions. This position will also be the lead for Corporate Insurance accounting. These accounting functions involve managing a WBS to track actual costs, which then are used to support forward pricing and incurred cost proposals to the government. The ideal candidate will have a history of multi-tasking, and the demeanor to work directly with DCAA/DCMA auditors.
Allocates costs, collects data, and prepares reports that maintain the company's cost accounting system. Ensures that costs are allocated according to established procedures. Gathers historical cost data on such activities as material purchases, labor, equipment depreciation, repairs, assembly, operating expenses, etc.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supports audit requests, fact-finding, and negotiation discussions for Incurred Cost Proposals
Ensure Cost Accounting compliance and provide Allowability determinations
Interact with personnel and management at all levels; will interface and coordinate with other business leaders and staff on a daily basis.
Support DCAA/DCMA RFI's
Act as Audit liaison
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant business/financial experience or master's degree and 8 years of relevant business/financial experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Proficient in MS Excel and Word
Team player, independent, proactive, and possess excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
Proficient in use of SAP R/3.
Knowledge/experience with DCAA Audit Manuals/Programs.
Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Policies and Procedures.
In-depth knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other applicable government regulations, with a major focus being on FAR part 31.
Comfortable preparing/briefing executive level presentations.
Experience interacting with DCAA/DCMA.
Experience in regard to validation of financial transactions and/or auditing.
Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other government regulations required.
